I have been photographing this beautiful mama and daughter since Amélie was just two weeks old, and each time it's so much fun getting to see how much she's grown! This St. Albert motherhood session was so special - it was documented in celebration of Amélie's first birthday, which truly is, in large part, a celebration of Carike's first year of motherhood.

Watching the beautiful bond these two share is quite something. I love watching a mother and child interact so naturally with one another, and my big inspiration for this session was to just allow these two to be, exactly as they are. This meant lots of sweet snuggles and quiet whispers as mama spoke to Amélie in the most soothing, nurturing way. It also meant lots of kisses - my favourite to observe, as Amélie loves to grab her mama's face and go all in! It was truly magical watching mama and baby love on one another, and it was a pleasure getting to capture this special time for them.

As an Edmonton Newborn Photographer, I know first hand how stressful your newborn session can seem. But it doesn’t have to be.  I work hard to help my clients prepare for our time together long before baby even arrives, so that our focus can be on capturing that beautiful bond during our session. Big sister Amélie was one of my first ever newborns and now here we are, just a few years later, documenting sweet baby sister Anouk. I have had the pleasure of photographing the Fouché family from their first, hazy days as a family […]

As an Edmonton maternity photographer and mother myself, I know first-hand how easy it is to convince yourself that pregnancy does not need to be documented. After all, your body has changed and stretched and become unrecognizable. You feel tired and swollen, and anything but glamorous. And yet, when you pause to marvel at the […]

Starting a business is hard. In fact, I’ve had a few jobs in my lifetime, and aside from mothering my two strong-willed daughters who are mini, fiery versions of myself, I would argue that building my photography business– with no business knowledge whatsoever– has absolutely been the hardest job I’ve had. If I could go […]
