Packing your hospital bag for your newborn’s arrival can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be.
I recommend starting early – sometime in your second trimester when you still have energy and can slowly set aside items that you won’t need until after baby’s arrival.
At the very latest, I recommend having your bag packed by 35 weeks to ensure that it’s ready to go in case of a surprise early arrival. After all, babies tend to arrive on their own timeline!
I know, first hand, how stressful it can be to have your newborn session in-home. You’ve just had a baby, you’re beyond exhausted, and your house feels like a tornado went off with breast pads and burp cloths and diapers scattered throughout every room. Getting yourself photo-worthy, along with your partner, baby, and any other […]
As a new mom, I know just how much time and care you’ve put into preparing your new baby’s nursery. Endless hours spent pouring over Etsy to find the perfect, hand-crafted mobile; innumerable evenings spent laying on the couch, rubbing your growing tummy and scrolling Pinterest; and many, many dollars spent bringing your vision to […]
My dearest Sophie Rose,
Right now, you are asleep on in my arms. Your favourite place to be. You’re having a hard time sleeping comfortably, as your tummy works hard to digest the milk, and seem happiest when you’re tucked into mommy’s chest. So here we sit. Nearly 5:30 in the morning […]
There’s something extra special about watching a family welcome their newest family member after spending some time getting to know the family. Watching baby Clara’s adoring parents and sweet big sister love on her was so special, and made me feel even more excited to watch my own little one become a big sister this […]
I first met Sandra at a Tuesday’s Together meeting for local Edmonton entrepreneurs, and I immediately knew I loved this girl. From her eye for gorgeous home decor, to her fun nature (not pictured, her popping some champagne at the end of her session to celebrate her upcoming birthday, and proceeding to spill it down […]
This Cold Lake family session was intended to take place only a few weeks after baby Cohen’s birth, but with Covid-19 hitting just as we were scheduled for our in-home session, we decided to postpone until it was safe to shoot outdoors and from a distance. This mama is a close friend of mine, and […]
I have been photographing this beautiful mama and daughter since Amélie was just two weeks old, and each time it’s so much fun getting to see how much she’s grown! This St. Albert motherhood session was so special – it was documented in celebration of Amélie’s first birthday, which truly is, in large part, a […]
Every once in a while, I get to photograph a family who instantly feel like close friends. From the moment I spoke with Izzy on the phone, to finally meeting her and her sweet family in person, I knew these were my kinda people. They truly made my job so easy, from agreeing to wake […]
This outdoor Cold Lake newborn session was originally planned to be a Fresh 48 session, but given the current pandemic and hospital restrictions that have come along with it, we knew pretty early on that this wasn’t going to be possible. Fortunately, this sweet husband and wife pair were so easygoing, and were truly just […]
Everything about this session was so dreamy – from the beautiful family in the most perfect fall wardrobe, to the sweet baby girl (and her cheeky smiles that she made me seriously work for!), to the gorgeous, nature-filled location. My time with these three was so fun and relaxed, despite it being just a little […]
