I was honoured to capture our good friends’ baby girl, Cadence Joy, who arrived in the world just yesterday. She was a surprise, but I knew all along that she was a she.

Her sweet little dress and socks were the very same pair worn by her mama, as well as both her aunties, when they were first born. Even her headband tells a story; she borrowed it from her new bestie, Emilie.

I’m overjoyed that I was able to document this once in a lifetime moment in Ryan and Nicole’s life; the day they met their daughter and became a family of three. There is something so innocent and pure about a tiny little newborn, just hours old, and capturing a new mom and dad in those first moments as parents is truly something special. It’s pure magic, watching a family become whole. I hope that they will cherish these photos for many, many years to come.
