With summer finally on the horizon, I’ve been on a hunt to find the best ice cream shops in Edmonton to satisfy my never-ending sweet tooth. In this article, I’ve dig deep to find the top 5 favourite places for Edmontonians to visit each summer.
Ask anyone their favourite ice cream shop in Edmonton, and 9 times out of 10, they’ll say Kind Ice Cream. With a variety of both “always flavours” – including dairy- and gluten free options, and “rotating flavours”, you could literally never run out of delicious options to try. At Kind, come for the incredible ice cream, stay for the sweet mission. As they say themselves on their website,
At Kind Ice Cream, our mission is to make and serve exceptional ice cream and to create a culture of creativity, inclusion and engagement. As a women, queer and Indigenous-owned business, we believe that our differences should be celebrated, and we are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion both within our business and in the wider community.
Now that’s a mission I can get behind.

Like to enjoy your ice cream in the comfort of your own home? Made by Marcus delivers (yes, you read that right) – or you can visit one of their two Edmonton locations – and has a variety of delicious pints to choose from. They also have a selection of incredible bars and ice cream cakes, for all types of occasions.
And while I’m typically a classic mint chocolate chip girl myself, the unique flavours at Made by Marcus are absolutely to die for. So if you like to venture out in your ice cream tastes, this is definitely the spot for you. (Hot tip: on beautiful summer days, there’s often a line up – yes, they’re that good. So be sure to give yourself extra time to visit).

With a rotating menu and fun food truck options (raise your hand if you truly believe food tastes better out of a food truck!), White Rabbit is a must-visit ice cream shop in Edmonton. Offering both year-round staples and changing selections, there truly is something for everyone at White Rabbit. And the best part? Every ingredient is locally sourced, so you can feel good about supporting your community with each bite.
Shop is located at 10546 110 Street NW.
Okay, so this one isn’t technically an ice cream shop in Edmonton, but this is your quintessential summer time, childhood-memories-in-the-making stop for a delicious ice cream treat. Located in the downtown area of neighbouring Fort Saskatchewan, Miller’s Ice Cream is literally inside an old train station, and has a large list of classic ice cream flavours (and frozen yogurt to die for!). These guys have been around since 1985 – so you know that they know ice cream. Take a road trip to Fort Sask (it really is so cute!), grab a cone and stroll the beautiful Legacy Park or along one of the many, many walking paths along the river. You won’t be disappointed!
Last, but certainly not least on our list of the 5 best ice cream shops in Edmonton is Scoop and Roll Creamery. With a large variety of locations (too many to list – so I’ve linked the website for you!), you can’t miss this delicious ice cream spot. With the majority being out of food trucks (again… you really can’t go wrong!), this is one spot that I stumble upon often. At Scoop and Roll, you get to personalize your ice cream to exactly your preferences – choose from a variety of dairy or vegan flavours, add your chosen mix-ins and toppings and watch the magic unfold. Seeing them create each masterpiece is also the icing on the cake!
