Hi there! If you’re reading this, chances are you’re expecting a baby – congratulations! You’re likely searching for all the Pinterest inspiration. Everything from what to pack in your hospital bag, to the perfect nursery decor to their very first outfit. Chances are, you’re also on the hunt for the perfect photographer to capture at-home newborn photos. Well, you’re in the right place! As a newborn photographer, I specialize in at-home newborn photos – capturing the beauty of your family in the place you spend your first days with your new baby.
… and trust me, they’re full of magic. Between the endless diaper changes, lack of sleep and recovery from bringing that sweet bundle into the world (trust me, it’s worth it!), there really is magic in those first days at home with your new baby.
As a mama of two, there is very little I wouldn’t give to go back to those first, hazy days. But knowing that we’ll never get to visit those blissful days again has made me appreciate the moments captured even more. Our first images as a family of three – and then a family of four – have doubled (and tripled) in value with each passing year. In fact, they are truly invaluable now that my babies are 2.5 and 5. There isn’t a price you could place on those irreplaceable memories of my babies.
Because, somehow, those babies grow before our very own eyes, and seemingly faster with each passing year. It’s true what they say – babies don’t keep. But luckily for us, photos do.
The beauty of an at-home newborn photo session is that you get to remember exactly where it was that you rocked your baby, fed them, snuggled them through all hours of the night and made your first memories as a new family.
Here at KKP, we are all for personal touches, and believe that your story, with your family, in your space is worthy of being told and remembered. After all, families move, houses change, and children grow. And we know that nothing can stay as it is in this moment, forever. All the more reason to soak it up and document it all while you can.
When my oldest was just 10 months old, we moved cities. This meant leaving behind the home we first lived in as a married couple, and the place we brought our 2 day old baby home to. It was certainly bittersweet, but how grateful I am to have captured so many memories in our first home together. Because while she may never remember living there, I can remember for her, with the help of some beautiful images.
That is at the heart of why we believe so strongly in capturing your story, exactly as it’s unfolding.
At the end of the day, the most important things in life aren’t things. They’re the people we spend our days with, the memories we make together, and the stories we can pass down to future generations.
That said, ensuring that our memories live on – in ways more tangible than our Instagram account – allows us to continue to tell these stories, long after the people in them have grown. As a newborn photographer and storyteller, my job doesn’t feel complete until your favourite moments are forever preserved in print.
Our clients trust us to help tell their stories through a variety of heirloom artwork pieces. Stunning, custom gallery walls made to fit their home, classic, sturdy albums meant to withstand many generations of little hands perusing, and print boxes made of the finest materials that can be cherished, enjoyed, and passed down. Because we believe that your legacy is so much more than an Instagram post – it deserves to be told and enjoyed, for many generations to come.
Expecting this year? We have a few remaining spots for 2023. Let’s plan your newborn photography session! Learn more about the KKP Experience here, and come say hello! I can’t wait to preserve your most special moments with the ones you love.
