• Bodega. Delicious Portuguese and Spanish tapas, with a speciality in seafood. Choose from 5 locations: 124 street, and Sherwood Park are our favourite ones
• Tiramisu Bistro. Dine in the restaurant for a full, delicious meal, visit the bakery for a delicious coffee and treat, or book a private dome to eat under the stars
• Tzin, wine and tapas – voted best tapas restaurant, many years counting.
• The Common, known for it’s craft beers (for the non-pregnant partner) and sophisticated atmosphere, this place is a must visit

2. Cooking + Baking classes

One of my personal goals this year is to spend more time learning how to make more interesting, new meals from scratch. And while we know that welcoming a baby into our lives leaves us with little extra time, it’s fun to explore some new foods through cooking classes before their arrival! (Especially given all the easy, take out meals you’ll likely be enjoying once they’re in your arms). Here are a few places in the city to enjoy a fun cooking class together.

Classical covers, performed by a talented string quartet, of popular artists and their best songs under the gentle glow of candlelight. These Mayfield Theatre Performance shows are always a good time! Where culinary delights come together with engaging live performances, you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the show! And there is always something new to discover!

2. A Comedy Show at the Comic Strip

Located in West Edmonton Mall, The Comic Strip is sure to entertain and allow your mind a break from all the planning, preparing and worry that comes with expecting a baby! This is one of our favourite date night ideas in Edmonton, because nothing brings you and your partner together quite like a good belly laugh!

3. A Piano Bar

One of my favourite spots in West Edmonton Mall used to have this incredible dueling piano performance. It was the perfect spot to sit back and enjoy some incredible music while sipping a cocktail (or mocktail, for the mamas!) and munching on some yummy food. While the spot I used to visit has since closed, there are a few piano bars still alive and well in Edmonton. Here are a few for your next date night:

• Julian’s Piano Bar. The pianist is there every Friday and Saturday evening, performing live while you dine and sip. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and this is sure to be a great spot for a lovely fall or winter date night idea in Edmonton
• Aussie Rules Kitchen + Piano Bar. This one is brand new it seems, as it has replaced the old dueling piano spot in WEM. Reviews suggest that the entertainment is over the top incredible, while the food is just so-so. So be sure to grab a delicious meal elsewhere on Bourbon street before ending your night here

Fun Date Night Ideas in Edmonton

Last but certainly not least, we have some of our most fun date night ideas in Edmonton for the expectant couple.

1. The Rec Room

Yummy food, good entertainment and plenty of games for your inner child, The Rec Room is always a lot of fun with a partner! My husband absolutely loves the fun challenges of Escape Rooms!
